Injury Progress Update

You guys, I haven’t ran in three, almost four, weeks. I am going slightly crazy.

I haven’t been able to go on walks either. I can do nothing that puts excess stress on my achilles tendon. Except yoga. And while still a very challenging workout, doesn’t exactly give me the same rush as a sweaty 5K.

So what have I done these past three weeks? Yoga, obviously. I’ve really gotten my unagi breath under control and I relax so hard in shavasana that I sometimes fall asleep. And every time I come within twenty feet of a yoga studio I sing this song –

Don’t get me wrong, I love yoga. I really do. I am just jonesin’ for some variety and to maybe spend a little more time outside.

Luckily, I have someone who wants to do it with me.

So besides yoga, I watched every single episode of Mad Men on Netflix. I am officially the last person to start watching this show and now I am hooked. Now I am watching Gossip Girl.

I also managed to come down with bronchitis over Memorial Day weekend. Kick me while I’m down why don’t ya body? Luckily, I am on the mend though just have that pesky lingering cough.

The good news is that I have noticed a difference in size of the bursitis. My right heel is all back to normal and the left has gone down (if ever so slightly). Sometimes it looks like its completely gone and then I realize it’s not. Very upsetting, but maybe a case of bad lighting.

I wonder if running misses me too. Don’t worry boo, we are just on a break.
